I recently made one of the greatest purchases of my life, the Vera Bradley Grand Traveler Bag in Parisian Paisley, a recently retired pattern. The bag was on sale and I had to snag it. Since I’ve been traveling a lot more recently than usual, with even more plans to travel in the near future, I thought a bag like this would come in handy.

Isn’t it beautiful? While packing my travel bag for my trip this weekend, I thought I would share what I pack in my travel bag. Keep in mind this is only a three day trip, so this would be considered me “packing light”.

This first thing I always like to make sure I have, amongst other things, is a good book– especially when I’m traveling along. Although my trip isn’t that long, a few hours on the train can sometimes drive me insane. Having a book I’m interested in at the moment will help me escape reality temporarily. I’m currently reading “Go Set A Watchman”, a Harper Lee book that was published last year, and that I purchased last year, but didn’t get around to starting until now. I wish I would’ve started when I bought it.

The next thing packed in my travel bag is my bathroom essentials, such as my Clinique acne face wash, makeup removing wipes, contacts, my new Warby Parker glasses, and my not-pictured flat iron, blow dryer, and brushes.

Next, some shorts and some shirts. Of course this weekend is supposed to be 95ºF and above, which means I can’t wear my favorite thing in the entire world– leggings. If you couldn’t tell, I’m not a huge fan of the heat. It’s never a good day when my hair frizzes up and I sweat profusely.Pictured here are some of my favorite shorts and t-shirts. Not pictured would be some of my bra’s, underwear, and socks. I always need socks. You’re probably thinking, “Who takes this much stuff on a three day trip?” Or you’re thinking, “Oh girl I would do the same thing.” 😉

Of course, you can’t forget pajama’s. Although I’d love to have a pair of cute and comfy pajamas that match, I have this pair of stripped shorts I got for Christmas from a friend one year, and an old solid black Gap t-shirt. It’ll do…

When traveling, near or far, I always like to carry some sort of camera with me. Whether it be my Nikon, my cannon video camera, or even just my cell phone; capturing memories has always been my thing. This time, I’m bringing my polaroid camera, a recent favorite.

Just incase it gets too hot to just sit inside all weekend, going to the beach is a must. Here I have my cheeky bottoms from Victoria’s Secret, and my black top from Pac Sun.

And amongst a few other things not mentioned, like headphones and a phone charger, I couldn’t forget my makeup. Although I probably won’t be wearing it much, it’s always nice to have.

Although not everything I packed was pictured, and I will probably add a few more things in the morning, here it is!

Also, below are a few of the items pictured above, and where to purchase them. Enjoy!
